Foundational Chiropractic is a Structural Chiropractic office serving the greater east Memphis area. Our mission is to go beyond the narrow symptom focus of conventional chiropractic and create patients whose bodies function better for longer, giving you the tools you need to get your life back!
How is our approach different?
In a world run on computers and cellphones, most don't know how much effort the body puts into keeping our head over the rest of our body! Our neck-first, top-down approach is designed to get your head on straight, working with your unique spine to restore proper function and balance to your WHOLE BODY.
We use CBCT 3D imaging to go beyond typical X-rays and measure your unique spine. This allows us to give a very gentle, precise adjustment, completely different than anything you may find in a conventional chiropractic office. We are proudly the only chiropractic office in TN, west of the Nashville area, to offer this style of approach!
Can you help me and what does that look like?
Yes! While we focus on the structure of your spine, not everyone has a structural issue. Our process always starts with a complimentary consultation to get to know you and your issues. If your problem is outside of the spine, we are committed to getting you to someone who can give you the great care you deserve. If you decide Structural Chiropractic is right for you, we use functional objective testing to check your progress along the way. This lets your doctor know what works best for your spine while recommending specific exercises and stretching to reduce the need for frequent appointments to maintain proper spinal function.
How often do I need to come in?
While we do not use "cookie cutter" plans in our office, patients are typically seen twice a week initially. The primary goal is to catch your spine as it slips into old habits, recorrecting your trouble spots to allow your spine to continue healing. The adjustment isn't focused on that instant "feel good" sensation you have to keep coming back for. It is about rebooting the automatic operating system that runs your body, allowing it to work better and easier. Holding your adjustment is healing!
Once your body is able to hold adjustments for longer periods, we decrease how often we see you. Our goal is to continue this process, checking your spine occasionally while reducing the need for frequent "re-adjusting".
How long will it take?
While everyone's goals and bodies are different, the best results are typically obtained over a couple of months, with increasing amounts of time between appointments. We always include complementary recommendations, including lifestyle changes and exercises, to help reduce the number of necessary visits if possible.
That being said, we aren't the type of office to lock anyone into long care plans or unwanted commitments. We offer single adjustments as well as discounted packages of care for those looking to ensure their spine is in tip-top shape!
